Padlock - Abus 72/40 - Orange

The Abus 72/40 has become something of a classic in locksport and is probably the first serious opponent for many.

Even though it is classified as a medium security lock, this little guy packs a punch – with six pairs of pins, five of which are spools, all packed into an extremely small keyway.

So if you've outgrown your training lock and may have already heard terms like “false set” and “counter rotation,” then why not give the Abus 72/40 a try?

Bonus tip: A 0.8 mm pry bar will serve you well here, as the small lock profile doesn't offer much space.
